Anybody can write about anything, you just need to have the courage to go out and be bold.  Writing for your website however, requires more than that, it requires great writing skills,s using the simplest of words, use of key words, some knowledge of human psychology, sales strategies, personalized style and ruthless editing of the content. 


First you need to have your product or service in mind, what are you offering people? Is it a physical product? or a training program? or a web designing service?

Once you have that clearly in your mind, and your digital and/or physical products are ready, then you can start the content writing process.

1. Enhance your writing skills.





  • Simplicity: Use familiar words and short sentences.
  • Correctness: Use Grammarly or any other software to clear out the grammatical errors. 
  • Clarity: Avoid complicated sentences, keep the message short and easy to understand.
  • Conciseness: Don't use too many words, in fact a good rule to follow, is given to us, in the words of Steve Krug, he says "Get rid of half the words on each page, then get rid of half of what's left." 
  • Elegance: Give a rhythm, graceful flow of ideas moving from one block of ideas to another. (source: udemy). Write maintaining connectivity between sentences, ideas and concepts. Don't start a new topic without concluding the previous one.

Its almost like hand holding your visitors, and taking them on a guided tour through your website. 

  • Use internal and external links to link your pages
  • Make it easy and fun for the visitors to navigate your website
  • They may arrive on any page of the website, let them know where they are
  • Tell them what to do next also known as call to action or CTA, should they read another blog, sign up for a free newsletter or download a free e-book etc.

  • Use different writing techniques, to communicate your knowledge, ideas and concepts effectively.
